Sunday 5 April | Lansdown Hall

There’s something quietly spellbinding about the meeting of Manu Delago and Max ZT. Two musicians, two instruments built on resonance and touch, sitting opposite each other and listening as much as they play.

Their album Deuce has been a long time in the making. The pair first met a decade ago, gathering fragments of improvised sessions over the years before finally shaping them into a set of compositions recorded in an Austrian monastery. You can hear that space in the music – as a third voice, holding and extending every note.

Delago, known for his work with Björk and Ólafur Arnalds, brings the shimmering, percussive language of the handpan. Max ZT, a Grammy-nominated hammered dulcimer player, draws out something both intricate and deeply grounded – wood and metal, rhythm and melody, constantly shifting roles between them.

What emerges is a musical conversation: fluid, attentive, and alive in the moment. No hierarchy, no fixed lines – just a shared pulse and a willingness to follow where the sound leads.

We’re delighted to welcome them to Lansdown Hall, Stroud for an intimate listening experience on Sunday 5 April. This is music that invites you to settle in, to notice, to be carried.
