This multi-award-winning artist returns to Scotland afer 5 years for a return visit to Celtic Connections Festival and her first visit to Dundee. She brings with her a brand new album, Milk Roulette, released in November and already collecting 4 star reviews from Mojo,The Guardian and featuring on many Best of lists, including The Telegraph Best Folk Albums of 2014. The very personal collection includes songs about Pheromones, IVF, a protest song about cheap downloading and her father’s game of Milk Roulette.
Alongside her friend since schooldays, muti-instrumentalist Julian Littman of Steeleye Span the evening promises a night of eclectic, acoustic folk-country as the duo swap guitars, mandolin, harmonium, ukulele, harmonies and a few good stories – plus of course her iconic hit ‘Pilot of the Airwaves’.
One of the UK’s most respected songwriters, Charlie’s songs have been covered by George Harrison, Scotland’s own Ricky Ross, Tina Turner and Celine Dion, but her live shows reveal that actually she keeps the best ones for herself.
