The final gig in a series of 80s cabaret style evenings of music and comedy 2015 #PanicBrosPresent
Dec 5 – Moth Club Hackney – presenting Reg Meuross & Richard Morton (themselves, solo) http://www.wegottickets.com/event/336215
The Panic Brothers are award winning musician & stand up comedian Rich Morton and award winning singer songwriter Reg Meuross: two men, two guitars, two mics & two voices that blend so well it’s hard to tell which is which. It’s rare to find a pair who work so well together in every way – writing, music, vocal, and a captivating on-stage chemistry.
Back the late 80′s ,The Panic Brothers’ rock and rollicking heady heyday, the fast paced, close harmony, high energy duo were tagged ‘comedy Everly Brothers’ with what Robin Denselow of the Guardian described as “spine-chilling harmonies”. Many of their stage companions of that time on the Alternative comedy circuit have gone on to become household names; the likes of Paul Merton, Jeremy Hardy, Harry Enfield, Jack Dee.
After a break of 25 years, they thought they’d see if they could still reach those beautiful high ringing notes and found they could! This year they persuaded some of these laughter barons and baronesses to leave their gilded fun castles and come and join them for an exclusive series of one-off performances by some true British comedy legends and the Panic Brothers. #PanicBrosPresents
Each foot stomping, side splitting Panic Brothers Presents show has kicked off with the legendary Panic Brothers’ high energy, punchy “combination of sharp, witty songs, tight harmonies and powerful acoustic guitars” [Time Out], and each has featured very special guests.
This golden gig is the finale of this series (which has included Jo Brand, Phill Jupitus and John Hegley). The stunning golden ceiling of the Moth Club in Hackney will reflect the very last gig – where the Panics will present as a special finale… themselves! The evening will include the beautiful songs of Reg Meuross (introduced onto the stage the Albert Hall by Radio 2’s former folk presenter Mike Harding as ‘One of this country’s finest singer-songwriters) and a musical stand up set from Rich Morton (introduced onto the stage of the Apollo Theatre as ‘One of the funniest men around’. Expect excellence in music, lyric and delivery from both these extraordinarily talented men – apart and together.
