30 years on from the heyday of the high energy, fast paced close-harmony singing duo Panic Brothers, Reg Meuross and Rich Morton continue to celebrate their reunion. Sat Dec 5th at the Moth Club Hackney TICKETS http://www.wegottickets.com/event/336215
After taking the comedy cabaret scene by storm in the 80s, Panic Brothers Richard Morton and Reg Meuross pursued highly successful solo careers, Reg Meuross being introduced onto the stage of the Albert Hall as ‘one of the finest singer songwriters this country has produced’ by Radio 2’s Mike Harding in 2009, and Rich Morton introduced onto the stage of the Apollo by Jack Dee in 2011 as ‘one of the funniest men in the world’. Together again, the chemistry between them is more relaxed, and the wit sharper than ever. Reg and Richard have lost none of the musical and lyrical edge which established them as a formidable live act, first on the London pub circuit and then leading to five years of successful touring and TV work, with appearances at Edinburgh, Glastonbury, Sidmouth and most of the major British Festivals and also the comedy circuit. The rejoining of the Panics has been celebrated by the likes of Jo Brand and Phill Jupitus who have joined them on stage for their series #PanicBrothersPresents.
For this special 30th anniversary Christmas extravaganza at the Moth club Rich and Reg will be presenting themselves! Performing in all their guises, they will open the show as their solo selves: two award winning acts. Richard’s much loved (Time Out Comedy Award winning) musical stand-up is a unique mix of jokes, anecdotes, witty observations and comic songs. Reg’s true troubadour set represents contemporary English Folk writing at it’s best, from up to the minute social commentary to some of the best love songs ever written, having won Fatea’s Best Male Vocalist Award 2013 and FolkWords best album 2014 for latest album England Green & England Grey.
They will then reunite their extraordinary musical and lyrical talent as Panic Brothers for the majority of the night, with “Sweet Everly Brothers harmonies, so impeccably spot on they bring a smile to your face” (Melody Maker) and “Their combination of sharp, witty songs, tight harmonies and powerful acoustic guitars” (Time Out)
