The Great Hall Sessions – Copper Viper and Lilah Bowden

12 December 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Tier 2 restrictions may now be in place for Devon, but the show must go on! The Black Bird Collective, fromthewhitehouse and Dartington are slightly adjusting the hugely popular Saturday live music nights to work with these new guidelines. We present: Great Hall Sessions Supper Club…

We are inviting you to join us on cabaret-style, candlelit tables for a super special music and dining experience. We have a wonderful line-up of acts playing each Saturday in December (two per evening), and a menu full of delicious local and ethically produced suppers courtesy of the White Hart (including veggie and vegan options) – plus a bar fully stocked with great drinks from the south west.

SAT 12 DEC: Copper Viper and Lilah Bowden

London acoustic folk duo Copper Viper – prolific songwriter and guitarist Robin Joel Sangster and fiddle/mandolin player Duncan Menzies – draw inspiration from the British folk and American country/bluegrass traditions. Their music marries haunting melodies and intricate vocal harmonies with searing instrumental arrangements

“What a beautiful sound… highly recommended

Eve Blair, BBC Radio Ulster

“Mighty impressive”

Frank Hennessy, BBC Radio Wales

Opening the evening will be local artist Lilah, who is enchanted by how folk songs morph and change as they migrate with their singers, picking up new tunes and wordings but remaining true, in essence, to their origin. She takes inspiration from this metamorphosis in creating new versions of these traditional songs and exploring their ancient themes.
