The Ciderhouse Rebellion @ Magpie’s Nest: Bristol
12th June 2022 • 3pm – 11pm • Windmill Hill City Farm, Bristol
The Nest Collective’s one-day festival celebrating the finest folk and roots music from around the world.
The Nest Collective have always felt that the shows with multiple stages – with musicians playing up close and personal, the old way – have been the most intimate and special. So they decided to create an entire festival around this: pure continuous music across several stages.
Wander from stage to stage with music all around you, seeking out familiar sounds and discovering new favourites. See what treasures you might find at the Magpie’s Nest.
The Ciderhouse Rebellion will be performing at Magpie’s Nest this June.
Every single The Ciderhouse Rebellion performance is uniquely magical, whether springing from a single unplanned note or a trad tune. The duo is fiddle player Adam Summerhayes (“Paganini of the traditional violin.” fRoots) and master accordionist Murray Grainger. They discovered their rare and magical connection instantly the first time they performed on stage together: “We were immediately able to play as if it was our 1000th gig, not our first”, says Murray. Since forming in November 2019 the prolific duo have recorded four albums.
“Grainger’s accordion with Summerhayes’s fiddle is especially beautiful.” Songlines
“Free-flowing, ambitious and fiercely creative..” The Strad.
“Two virtuoso musicians playing some of the most startling and original music you will ever encounter. Compelling, exciting and utterly original” Phil Beer.
