Singer-guitarist Dan Whitehouse renews, reinvents and reimagines – touching listeners with his observations and moving them with his sensitivity and impeccable songwriting.

On this, The Glass Age Album Tour, Dan continues to develop and evolve his live offering whilst showing how he carefully nurtured his creativity during an imposed stay in Japan from January 2020 to June 2021. The Glass Age – a collaboration with Swedish producer Gustaf Ljunggren, looks at how our human experience and ways of connecting have changed through the ‘glass’ of virtual communication. All of the incredible new songs lean into minimal electronica as much as the beautiful clean tones of Dan’s guitar and exceptional story-telling. In this, The International Year of Glass, catching Dan live is even more irresistible.

“Wonderful production and writing”  Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music

“Perhaps Mr Whitehouse’s greatest gift is his knack for writing seemingly simple songs that most listeners will be able to relate to.” MAVERICK

“Subtle and delicate melodies” The Sunday Times

“Nothing short of beautiful – **** ” RnR Magazine

“There is, somewhere, an alternate reality, one in which Ed Sheeran is a cult singer-songwriter whose work gets critical acclaim from those in the know but never manages to trouble the charts, but where, the equally deserving Dan Whitehouse basks in universal praise for his brilliantly constructed melodies and insightful, emotionally resonant lyrics and whose albums sell by the truckload across the world.” Mike Davies, Alternative Roots

“a strikingly new maturity and willingness to push the envelope” (Folk Radio UK)

THE GLASS AGE

“..a seven track meditation on the way human experience and connecting has changed through the medium of virtual communication.”

“The lyrics definitely shows the influence of Japanese poetry and the way it condenses meaning into short phrases. And Cohen’s likely in there too.”
